Her popularity was phenomenal for the role, however she believed that playing Mary Camden in the negative way would limit her capacity to perform. For the Gear magazine cover Jessica was dressed in a bikini in an attempt to defy the stereotype. The Jessica's fans were furious at the action. Her performance in the 6th season was the last time she appeared in 7th Heaven. In the movie Ulee's Gold, she gained instant recognition for her excellent acting. In fact, she was awarded the award for award for the Best Young Supporting Actress in this film. Summer Catch is a great demonstration of her ability. Even though she gave a stellar appearance, Rules of Attraction didn't receive much attention. In the following years, her role in the horror film The Texas Chainshaw Massacre caught people's attention. She has also acted in suspense film and has proved herself as a serious actor.
